DAVAO CITY, June 24 — Mindanao peace advocates will launch on Friday the Mindanao People’s Peace Agenda (MPPA) at the Brokenshire Resort and Convention Center here in stepping up its advocacy for lasting peace in Mindanao.

Initiatives for International Dialogue (IID) executive director Gus Miclat said after launching, the Mindanao Peace Weavers will sell the MPPA to all Mindanao stakeholders aimed at achieving real peace in Mindanao.

The launching will come in a cultural manner skipping away from the traditional ribbon cutting ceremonies.

Miclat said the MPPA primarily consists of 15-point agenda towards achieving peace in Mindanao.

He said the 15-point agenda is clustered into seven points to include the following: recognition of support and respect to right to self-determination; human rights; human accountability; good governance; sustainable development; national peace policy; and solidarity.

Panelists in the discussion on the perspectives of MPPA will include Undersecretary Rafael Seguis, chair, GRP Negotiating Panel; Mahagher Iqbal, chair, MILF Negotiating Panel; Secretary Jesus Dureza, Mindanao Development Authority; and others. (PNA)
