Lack of Info Blamed for Public Confusion in Peace Process

ZAMBOANGA CITY –THE lack of proper information among stakeholders about the peace talks between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) is one of common reasons why some sectors in the country do not support the ongoing negotiations, a study made by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process (OPAPP) revealed.

“If there is one clear imperative arising from the findings, it is the need for a comprehensive communication program to help people understand the issues as well as the implications of the different options so they can make responsible, intelligent decisions,” Musa Sanguila, regional management coordinator of Dialogue Mindanaw for the Lanao region, said in a statement.
